True Presence Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the True Presence mobile app. The app is operated by Loreto Media LLC ("Loreto Media," "we," "us," or "our"). By using True Presence, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

True Presence is a free tool that uses your location, a device compass, and public OpenStreetMap data to point toward the nearest mapped Catholic place of worship. You may also save a tabernacle pin on your device and point the compass toward that pin. The app does not provide pastoral, legal, medical, emergency, or navigation advice.

Results depend on public map data and your device sensors. A result may be missing, stale, mislabeled, closed, private, or not the nearest church in fact. A mapped Catholic place of worship does not confirm parish status, Mass times, access, or a tabernacle. Direction, distance, and walking routes may be inaccurate. Check the destination before you go and use your judgment.

Do not use the app while driving, cycling in traffic, crossing a road, or doing anything that needs your full attention. Stop in a safe place before looking at or operating the app. Follow local laws and signs. True Presence is not an emergency service and must not be used to make safety-critical decisions.

You are responsible for your device, its compass calibration, location permission, network connection, and any charges from your carrier. If you deny location access, the main feature will not work. You may revoke permission at any time in device settings.

You may use True Presence for lawful personal use. You may not misuse public map services, send abusive or high-volume requests, interfere with the app or its services, bypass security, reverse engineer the app except where the law permits, or use it to violate another person's rights or safety.

Loreto Media and its licensors own the app, its original software, design, marks, and content. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Data Commons Open Database License. OpenStreetMap data has its own license and notices.

True Presence uses OpenStreetMap/Overpass and may open Apple Maps or Google Maps. Those services are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Loreto Media does not control their availability, content, accuracy, or handling of request logs.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, True Presence is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Loreto Media does not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, current, or available in every place, or that it will identify the nearest church or a church with an accessible tabernacle.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Loreto Media and its owners, staff, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to the app or these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

We may change, suspend, or stop all or part of the app at any time. We may suspend access when needed to protect the app, public services, users, or our rights, or when you breach these Terms. We may update these Terms by posting a new version and effective date. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
